Wayzata Girls Basketball Association

Preparation for the Wayzata Girls Basketball Association season is well underway. 

• Registration is open and while we're encouraged to see that all areas are ahead of pace compared to last year, there are still many players that still need to be registered.
• We'll be walking in the JJ Hill Days Parade for our third straight year.  Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 12 and look for details on our website
• Travel Tryouts are coming up the end of September and first week in October for Gopher State(Travel Lite) and 6th Grade Travel.  A couple changes for this season:  Wayzata Girls High School Head Coach and members of his staff will conduct a Pre-Tryout Clinic on 9/23.  Also, 43 Hoops in Hopkins is offering a discounted, pre-tryout clinic for two Saturdays before our actual tryouts begin.  There's a link to 43 Hoops in the 'Basketball Training' page of our website.  Tryouts begin on 9/27 for 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th grade Travel.  All Gopher State and 6th grade Travel tryouts begin on 10/4.

The Wayzata Girls Basketball Association exists to improve the basketball skills of it's participants by sponsoring basketball programs for girls in grades Kindergarden through 12 and by working closely with the Wayzata High School program to promote and foster girls basketball. Please click on the Registration link to register your daughter(s) for Travel, Gopher State(formerly Travel Lite), Recreation and/or Junior Jammers.  For Travel and Gopher State, we'll have Tryout Clinic and Tryout dates firmed up soon.  To help in family planning, most teams will practice on Monday, Tuesday and/or Thursday.  Right now, we're not foreseeing Wednesday or Friday practices but that could change depending on the total number of teams we have in all divisions.
 
Girls keep practicing!  Every year players make different teams and the time you put in during the summer matters.  If you're planning on registering for the pre-season conditioning program at Acceleration NW, the 7pm session is full and closed.  Right now, only 6-7pm is open but if there is enough interest, we may be able to reserve another session from 8-9pm.  See details below.
