WGBA Coaches Corner
The WGBA is committed to consistent player development across all grades and teams. Coaches are expected to ensure that every athlete receives a positive, competitive, development-focused experience centered on skill growth, teamwork, confidence, and a love for the game. See the bottom of this page for some suggested drills to leverage as part of your practice plans.
We're excited to announce that we're currently seeking passionate and dedicated coaches for our Youth Girls Travel Basketball program for grades 3-8! Your time, leadership, and commitment to developing young athletes make a lasting impact, and we'd love to have you join our program.
WGBA Travel Program - Coaching Application Information
If you are interested in coaching for the WGBA travel program, please make a copy of the coaching application, complete it, and submit it to Allie Storti at stortiwgba@gmail.com by September 8th.
Once your application has been received, we will contact you to schedule an interview.
Interview Schedule
- Grades 6-8 Coaches: Sunday, September 13, from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Starbucks at the Maple Grove Hy-Vee
- Grades 3-5 Coaches: Sunday, September 20, from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Starbucks at the Maple Grove Hy-Vee
Travel Coach Selection Timeline
- Coaching applications are submitted.
- Interviews are conducted.
- Player tryouts take place.
- Teams are formed.
- Coaches are assigned following team formation.
Our goal is to place coaches in positions that best fit both the needs of the players and the overall program.
